We all faced this nightmare of sending a wrong message to the wrong person. Then facing them to sort out the misunderstanding. Often the receiver felt weird or sometimes thought it was funny. But tragically on some bad occasion it tangled you into a big mess. Common, it is not so rare of a case. Losing tracks in the piles of messages, then mismatching the receivers’ address. Or just simply hitting the ‘enter’ by mistake, while you were still revising and editing the message. 1. Come Clean Do not try to hide or just simply avoid what you have done. Simply come clean about it that, you have done that tragic thing. Do not get nervous, mistakes happen. Do not beat yourself up on it and get weird about it. Learn to accept bring in the topic/incident by yourself. Interestingly, this is even applied to job interviews. Suggested by most of the employers. 2. Confess Savor the blame! Just confess that you have done the horrible thing. Take responsibility. Reach out to the other end, then gradually talk about it. Make them realize it was a mistake and nothing was intended. Soon, it will become your silly story at dinner tables. 3. Accept Outcomes Finally, after you have given your best in first two steps. Be proud that you were courageous enough to do so. Just accept the results afterwards. Obviously, it is not full-proof plan. It is neither brining a whole negative result. You have tried your best, give credit to it.
