Okay, it’s “freakout” time again. The trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars story has just been released. This is not, I repeat this is not a drill.
After the success of the Star Wars: Force Awakens, the franchise is now trying to pull a spinoff on the story set in an era before the first Death Star was destroyed, that is before the first movie, “Star Wars: A New Hope” begins. The movie will star Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk in a breathtaking narrative.
The trailer opens up with Jyn Erso, the protagonist of the upcoming movie being read her crimes, which lead to her declaring, “This is a rebellion, isn’t it? I rebel.” Absolute chilling moment right there. In the trailer, she is assigned to a mission to infiltrate the Empire by Mon Mothma, one of the leaders of the resistance. And did I mention that there is an extremely high probability of Darth Vader making an appearance? Yep.
Since Darth Vader was in charge of the original construction of the Death Star, he is bound to meet Jyn if she is to infiltrate the Empire. There are countless reference in the trailer which will make a Star Wars fan of any magnitude jump in excitement.
This would be the only spinoff of the franchise before the release of Episode VIII. George Lucas, who is working as a creative advisor for the moment, has hinted to there being ties of immeasurable magnitude between the upcoming movie and Episode VIII. The release date for this movie is set in December, and to be honest, as a Star Wars fan, December can’t come any sooner.
