We want govt to increase GDP rapidly

Dr Kazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad : There is nothing to make a fuss over the soaring GDP. We want earnestly that the government will increase the GDP rapidly. People will increase it themselves even if the government does not wish to do so. Not all the people of the country have become self-reliant. The country’s poverty rate still hovers around 23-14 percent.
There is no denying the fact that the country’s GDP has increased. The rate has not been so as we expected. It does not delight me as the country’s main tendency is to increase GDP. The GDP is growing concurrently with the unequal distribution of wealth. The country’s investment scenario is not encouraging. The rate investment was slow last year and so was the remittance.
The point is that the GDP is not increasing as it is supposed to be now. The country’s people are not
benefitting from the GDP growth. The number of rich people is increasing in the country. However, it does not necessarily mean that the soaring GDP is attributable to the growth of the rich. It is quite natural that the GDP growth will slacken in the election year.
