Desk Report: A two-day-long international conference on climate change and environmental issue titled ‘China, South and Southeast Asian Conference on Envi-ronment and Ecological Risk Management’ will begin at Dhaka University today, reports Asian Age. Faculty of Earth and Environment of Dhaka University and Hunan University of China are jointly organizing the program to extend the collaboration between the universities.
They came up with the announcement at a press conference held at Faculty of Earth and Environment on DU campus.
President of Dhaka University Teacher’s Association ASM Maksud Kamal read out the written statement at the press conference. DU VC Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the program. In this conference, 50 researchers and experts including 17 researchers from different countries including China, Nepal and Myanmar of various universities will participate.
“The main idea of organizing such seminar and having this short of collaboration is I hope some of our students will get opportunity to go there for higher study,” Prof Kamal added.
