M Humayun Kabir: Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Monirul Islam yesterday said there is no specific security threat across the country centering the verdict of August 21 grenade attack case on October 10.
The CTTC chief also said if any quarter tries to create violence, they will be handled strictly.
He was talking to reporters at Crime Reporters Association in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Police will be on duty to avoid any untoward incident over the verdict, said Monirul, also additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Replying to a query, he said to ensure foolproof security during Durga Puja, police force will be deployed for providing maximum security keeping in mind the worldwide situation after inaugurating a Children’s Art Competition.
While replying to another query on cyber security threat during the upcoming national elections, the police official said many tried to create trouble and break law and order during various movements using social media, therefore, police will continue to work to ensure nothing like that occurs.
