Desk report: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three members of a theft gang along with 2600 litres of diesel stolen from trains from Azimnagar Rail Station area in Lalpur upazila early Wednesday, reports The Independent. The arrestees were identified as Makbul Hossain, Abdul Awal and Rafiqul Islam of the upazila. Tipped off, a team of RAB-5 conducted a drive in the area and arrested them along with the diesel around 3 am, said RAB.
The arrestees have long been involved in stealing diesel from trains and sell those in different shops in the area, said RAB.
