Governor must apologize

Desk Report: Economists, civil society members and intellectuals have demanded that Bangladesh Bank’s Governor Fazle Kabir must immediately apologize for not including father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s photographs in the book on the central bank’s history, reports The Asian Age.
Moreover, it has been found that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s contribution for the establishment of Bangladesh Bank has not been stated in the preface by Governor Fazle Kabir. As a result patriotic citizens have expressed deep anger over the audacity of the Governor and have urged the government to remove Fazle Kabir from the top post of the central bank. A report titled “Bangabandhu ignored in BB history book: Academics blame authority and anti-liberation wing’s ploy” appeared in Daily Asian Age on Sunday. This report has jolted the entire country. Phone calls from a great deal of readers and scholars came to the newspaper’s office on Sunday all of whom condemned Bangladesh Bank for publishing this book without Bangabandhu’s photographs and without adequate references to the father of the nation.
