Sayeed Muhammad: Referring to his 56-year-career in public service, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has said he achieved nothing but profound satisfaction while serving the people, now moving towards the last hours of life.
The minister made the emotional remarks while addressing a scholarship grant program of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited at Mirpur Indoor Stadium in Dhaka yesterday, reports Banglanews24.com.
“I might have made some mistakes in life and also got opportunity to correct some of those. However, I have never been deprived of the pure satisfaction of serving people,” he said.
Recently the veteran politician announced that he is not going to participate in the upcoming polls and the last budget announcement for the fiscal year 2018-19 was the last of his political career. Muhith created record of announcing 10 consecutive national budgets.
In the emotional note, Muhith said, “I, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, will be an exemplary figure in some cases and hoping to see some few more ‘Muhith’ during my last hours of life.”
