Microbus plunges into Hatirjheel lake

    Hossen Sohel: A microbus plunged into Hatirjheel Lake in Dhaka breaking the railing of a bridge yesterday morning, reports The Daily Star.

    No casualty was reported in the accident as the driver of the microbus managed to come out of the vehicle and swim ashore, Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

    The incident took place around 9:45am, added the fire service official.

    On information, two fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and managed to pull out the sunken vehicle around 10:50am, he added.

    Meanwhile, a member of a popular Traffic Alert group on Facebook posted some photos of the accident and claimed that it took place behind the Gulshan Police Plaza near the lake.
