No more killer robots

    Kim Ye-jun/Seven Billion Today

The only shed of light on my otherwise grim, abysmal and bleak day:
The European Parliament has passed a resolution calling for an international ban on KILLER ROBOTS!
Rightly so, I am quite relieved, as last month talks at the UN did not result in an agreement on the quite futuristic issue. Some countries insisted that the benefits of autonomous weapons should be explored. Others argued that such a ban could limit research on artificial intelligence. The main line of debate was whether it would be a security issue if some countries created ‘killer robots’ and some refrained from doing so. Who can take a guess at which countries will probably completely turn their backs on this legislation and create the robots anyway!? Write in comments. I am interested to know if you are on the same wavelength as me.
