The star and legendary actor Robert De Niro, is taking full accountability for the screening of the contentious documentary film ‘Vaxxed: From Cover-Up To Catastrophe’ as the Tribeca Film Festival, De Niro says that movies like this need to be shown to the wider audience, not to spark debates but in order to bring about discussions and groups on how to act is a proper way. He further states that in his co-founding capacity of the festival, he has never once asked personally for a screening but this movie needs to be shown. The movie by controversial director Andrew Wakefield claims to delve into the link between autism and vaccines. It features interviews with doctors, politicians, parents and pharmaceutical whistleblowers! Robert de Niro says that he and his wife Grace, know the difficulty, pain and joy of raising an autistic child, their son Elliot, he is not anti-vaccine but believes that option should be discussed and explained in a healthy way. De Niro says that he wished to clarify his position in the matter because he knows that the screening of such a controversial film could be misinterpreted as giving the cause a platform.
