10 dengue patients in Khulna in 3 months

Sayeed Muhammad: At least ten patients have been suffering from dengue fever, over the last three months in Khulna.
The affected people were treated in three hospitals and one private
clinic—one chose to travel to Dhaka for better treatment, reports Dhaka Tribune.
“The Civil Surgeon’s Office has formed 116 medical teams in nine upazilas of Khulna to prevent dengue fever,” said Khulna’s Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Md Atiyar Rahman Sheikh.
In July and August, three dengue patients were identified in Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) Hospital, from where they were discharged after treatment for 5-6 days, sources said.
Dr Gopal Biswas of the hospital said: “A teenager named Alvi, 17, from Gopalganj received treatment here for five days after being affected by dengue fever. After recovering, he went to Dhaka for better treatment.”
“Two more, including Mithun Pal from Jessore, were admitted with dengue fever on August 28. After receiving treatment for five days, they recovered and left the hospital.”
Sources from Gazi Medical College and Hospital said a worker named Ripon Mina, from the Modhhodanga area, once inflicted with dengue, received hospital treatment for six days.
According to KMCH sources, a man named Sobahani Chakma was admitted there for dengue and left after receiving treatment for six days.
KMCH Professor SM Kamal said five dengue patients were admitted to his private clinic between July and August and they all returned home after recovering.
