A young man died falling from the rooftop of a building in the city’s Chawkbazar area on Friday night reportedly while fleeing to escape police arrest.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam, 30, son of late Nuru Miah of Shia lane of the Hoseni Dalan road in the area. Witnesses said the accident took place around 8:30pm as sub-inspector Rafique and assistant sub-inspector Mozammel of Bangshal Police Station chased Kalam when he came to Chankharpool.
