Abrar Hussain: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said yesterday that only Premier Sheikh Hasina is aware when the polls-time interim government will be formed.
He added that since the Election Commission will be deciding the election date, it is unwise for anyone to discuss about these issues.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks before reporters prior to attending a views–exchange meeting with Rajshahi district AL leaders in Dhaka party office.
Earlier on Wednesday, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith claimed that the polls-time government will be formed within 20 days and the national election likely to be held on December 27.
When asked about the topic, Quader said no one other than Sheikh Hasina knows about the interim government and announcing the Election Day is the EC’s duty, reports BanglaNews.
“Even if December 27 is the Voting Day, government or any minister should not say it. We must not say things that embarrass the EC.”
