“Turn us into another Bangladesh”

Sayeed Muhammad: A local think-tank called Defence Research Forum or DefRes in its Facebook page posted a 14-second video, in which Pakistani experts are seen praising Bangladesh.
One of the speakers, as seen in the video, in a talk-show, was comparing Bangladesh’s development to Pakistani’s as he said: “If the PTI can do things properly, it may take 10 years to reach the level of Bangladesh.”
Referring to Pakistan’s stock market, he in Urdu said: “There (in Bangladesh) are a 300 million US dollar investment, while our stock exchange has we have merely 100 billion dollars.”
“Bangladesh exports goods worth 40 billion dollars. We do export goods of 22 billion dollars,” he said while speaking of the expert sector.
After the cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan became the president of Pakistan of late, he promised of turning the country into a Sweden. The discussant at the talk-show also criticised the pledge, saying: “For God sake, turn us into another Bangladesh. We will become fans of Imran Khan. Make us another Bangladesh in 10 years, not five years.”
