News Age: Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Sunday asked the Awami League government to reinstate poll-time caretaker government system in the constitution for holding a fair, neutral and inclusive general election.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a news briefing at the party’s central office said the ruling Awami League general secretary on Saturday said that the next parliament polls would be held according to the Constitution responding to the BNP’s demand for poll-time neutral government renewed from its rally in Dhaka on Saturday.
‘You (Awami League) have scrapped the caretaker government system by rescinding the 13th amendment of the Constitution for staying in power forever,’ Rizvi said.
The BNP leader said the way they (Awami League) have dropped the caretaker government system, the same way possible to again incorporate the system in the Constitution.
