    Banpara highway OC closed over Natore road crash

    Kabir Humayun: Banpara highway police officer-in-charge (OC) has been closed following Natore road crash that left 15 people dead last Saturday.
    GM Shamsur Nur, the highway police officer, has now been attached to the office of Bogra highway police’s superintendent – effective from yesterday, reports The Daily Star.
    The OC has been closed as he was blamed for negligence, said Md Shahidullah, additional superintendent of Bogra zone highway police.
    At least 15 people, including five of two families, were killed and 20 others injured in Saturday’s road crash in Natore’s Baraigram during the Eid holidays.
    The crash took place on Natore-Pabna highway when a bus colliding head-on with a human hauler.
