Kabir Humayun: A second-grader girl was violated by a septuagenarian in Gojanagar area in Nabinagar municipality of Brahmanbaria district on Friday.
Kulsuma Begum, victim’s mother, filed a case with Nabinagar Police Station on the day of the incident, reports UNB.
Till Sunday, police had still failed to arrest the main accused although they have detained two people for interrogation.
According to the case statement, an elderly man Obaidul Haque, 75, grocery shop owner at Khajanagar area in the municipality, lured the girl, 7, to a small room at the back of his shop promising free chocolates and violated her there.
Hearing the girl’s cries for help, locals rescued her from the spot.
Soon after the incident, the accused went into hiding.
