Barapukuria Coal disappearance: ACC quizzes 3 Petrobangla officials

    Raj Abrar: The ACC has issued a summons notice to 32 Petrobangla officials, who are to be questioned from August 28 to 30, reports Dhaka Tribune.
    As of writing this report on August 16, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is still interrogating three senior officials of Petrobangla in a case over missing coal at the Barapukuria mine.
    According to the Dhaka Tribune, ACC Deputy Director and Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Samsul Alam is reportedly performing the interrogation.
    On July 22, it was discovered that 142,000 tons of coal worth around Tk230 crore, intended for the nearby power plant, went missing.
    The three Petrobangla officials are Deputy General Manager (Maintenance and Contact Management) Md Nazmul Haque, Manager (Coal Handling Management) Md Shoaibur Rahman, and Manager (Production Management) Md Sayed Masud.
