Kabir Humayun: Inspe-ctor General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwar warned that any unfit vehicle will not be allowed to run on the streets of Bangladesh ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
“Stern legal actions will be taken against those drivers without driving licences,” he uttered warning while speaking at a press briefing at Dhaka’s Police Headquarters yesterday.
The concerned authorities were asked to take strong measures to prevent incidents of capsize or overloading in water transportation system.
The district police have also been instructed to stay alert against any disorder that might occur during the Eid congregations.
When asked about August 15, the IGP said there is no threat or risk regarding the day, but police have taken all the safety measures anyway.
