UNB: Knowledge Industry (KI) and Safety and Rights Society (SRS) on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to investigate workplace deaths across the country, and help the victims’ families realise compensation.
KI Managing Director Mahamudul Haque and SRS Executive Director Sekendar Ali Mina inked the deal at SRS office in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
As per the MoU, KI, a newly formed think tank, will carry out investigation into the workplace deaths with assistance from SRS, a non-governmental rights body.
On behalf of SRS, Bangladesh Legal Aid Services Trust (BLAST) will provide the victim workers and their families with free legal aid to realise compensation by filing cases with the Labour Court.
