Shahidul Alam taken back to DB office

M Humayun Kabir: Photographer and activist Shahidul Alam has been taken back into the DB custody from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) as doctors did not find any reason to admit him.
“Our medical board examined him. We did not find any reason to admit him,” Brigadier General Abdullah-Al-Harun, director of BSMMU, told bdnews24.com.
Alam, 63, who was taken to BSMMU yesterday morning following a High Court order, has been taken back into the DB custody around 2pm after his health check-up, said Abdullah-Al-Harun.
“We will get the results of his health tests today.”
On Tuesday, the High Court ordered a quick transfer of Alam, arrested on charges of “spreading lies” via Facebook, to hospital for treatment from the DB custody.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court placed Alam in police custody on Monday, for seven days of questioning.
