M Humayun Kabir: Three top BNP leaders have been sued on charge of instigating students who are protesting for safe roads.
The leaders are BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, reports Observer.
AB Siddique, president of Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad, a pro-Awami League organisation, filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court yesterday morning.
Magistrate AHM Toyaha recorded the plaintiff’s statement and ordered Tejgaon Police Station OC to submit the report after investigation.
AB Siddique, in the case, alleged that Amir Khasru instigated the students during their movement demanding safe roads.
An audio of the BNP leader’s conversation went viral in social media where he instructed a man named Nawmi to join the ongoing movement with a large number of people, the case statement said.
Besides, Chhatra Dal activists penetrated into the student movement and torched two buses in Uttara and vandalised Awami League office in Jhigatala following the instruction of Fakhrul and Rizvi.
