Rohingyas to get additional funds from Australia

     Sofian Khan: An additional humanitarian funds of AUD 18.4 million has been announced by Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop to meet the urgent needs of Rohingya people and the host community in Bangladesh. According to the Australian government, over 12,00,000 Rohingyas who have fled into Bangladesh has created one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. They announced of their “committed” standing to working side by side with Bangladesh to support those in need. Australian funding will be allocated to its partners on the ground including the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and World Food Program (WFP), providing food, shelter, health and protection services to the most vulnerable people living in Cox’s Bazar.
