Sofian Khan: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Awami League’s new central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Gulistan.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, Sheikh Hasina also the party President, cut a ribbon on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Sheikh Hasina placed a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 to mark AL’s 69th founding anniversary.
According to sources of AL, the new office building includes modern facilities such as a state of the art conference hall, seminar room, multimedia library, separate lounges for VIPs and journalists, cafeteria, dormitories, and car parking.
The building has been founded with a budget of Tk15 crore. The party leaders and activists financed for its construction.
Of the ten floors, seven will be used for organizational activity, where party leaders and activists from all units of the Awami League will have adequate office space.
According to the building’s plan, the Party President will sit on the ninth floor. Bullet-proof glass will be set up at the floor.
