The fear of reaching your goals

Goals. Ambitions. Aims. These minute words are the jewels that hold the crown together.
These words are what drive us. Motivate us. Remind us every morning where we need to be. What we should focus on. These words keep us awake at 4 in the morning while we look at the ceiling and imagine ourselves holding the brass ring.
But. Do we really want to achieve our goals? Do we really want to reach that place where we’ve always dreamt to be? Are we even ready? Are we ready to grab that brass ring and show the world that ‘Yes,I have done it. Yes I can!’
    Haha,no. We’re not.
Ask yourself. You want to be successful. You want to be rich, you want to have an assurance in life. You want a fairytale run, folks. Yet,you procrastinate. All day long. Seven days a week. You know you should be finishing those assignments. It’s practically right there in front of you. But you choose to watch the Pilot episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S for the trillionth time. And after that, you end up in youtube searching for that one song you just CANNOT remember! Myself included.
We procrastinate through hours and days knowing it’s consequences and the failures lying ahead because we are afraid. We fear the mere thought of reaching our goals. What if we don’t?
What if there isn’t a happy ending to our endless effort? What if all the nightmares you had about failing in life and disappointing your family comes to life? What if!
The fear of success is a very unique issue that arises when you
are genuinely creating change and moving forward in your life. The fear of success is very real because the future is real-we’re all heading there-and what we imagine for our future has an enormous influence on us.
