Sofian Khan: The High Court (HC) summoned all the investigating officers (IO) yesterday who were responsible for the investigation the BASIC Bank loan scam to appear before it on the coming Wednesday.
According to ACC lawyer Khurshid Alad, the HC bench comprised of Justice Shahidul Karim and Justice M Enayetur Rahim directed the IOs to appear before the HC including all the documents and explain why they were not able to finish the investigation on scheduled time.
According to the law, an IO is allowed a maximum of 180 days to complete the delegated task but the BASIC bank scam investigation was unable to be completed even after it passed two and a half years, he added.
