Sabah Mannan: Briefing the reporters at the EC secretariat Thursday noon (April 26), Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed said the upcoming polls to Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) won’t have any deployment of army. Previously, BNP placed 26-point demand seeking army deployment and abolishing the use of EVM machines in the polls to GCC and Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and the polls are scheduled to be held on May 15, reports Banglanews. Helaluddin told media “All the factories in Gazipur City Corporation will remain closed on the day of election. And no army will be deployed there.”
