Taking care of your mental health

    We live in a country where mental health is not adequately prioritized. Psychiatrist and therapy session are scarcely available for such an overly populated country. However, we often overlook the fact that mental health can also be taken care of by ourselves to an extent. Here are some advices and methods on how to ensure betterment of your mental health:

    Have a conversation:
    When you are facing mental health issues, chances are your mind will not be working properly. Calling some and having a healthy conversation might just be your savior. It maybe a friend, family member or just acquaintance. Talking with someone will open you up to a different perspective of your situation and also provide a second opinion.

    Deep breaths:
    An easy method of releasing stress is taking deep and long breaths, finding peace within yourself in the process. Close your eyes and take deep breaths, while inhaling and exhaling. Try to count backwards from 10 as a counter. Another different is to replicate the breathing technique of meditation. Spend 7 seconds on inhaling, holding your breath and then exhaling. Although many people do this unconsciously every day, but being aware of your breathing will help you calm down and find inner peace.

    Take a break
    Often we get overwhelmed by our mechanical daily routine. It is important to take a step back and reassess our lives. Take some time for yourself, it is important. Isolate yourself from all your troubles and responsibilities. Prioritizing your mental health is very important. Take a walk in the park or read your favorite book.

    Write about it
    Writing about how you are feeling may lead you to finding what your problem is. Sometimes our head is a mess, and we fail to follow any clear line of thought. Jot down whatever you are feeling. Hopefully you can root what is troubling you and find your way out of the maze.
