DOT Desk: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) on Tuesday demolished some structures
built illegally on the banks of the river Buriganga, reports The Daily Sun.
BIWTA officials conducted the demolition drive in Kholamora Ghat area under Kamrangichar and Keraniganj in the capital.
“We’ve demolished a seven-storey building constructed illegally on the riverbank,” said BIWTA joint director AKM Arif Uddin.
“Some small structures adjacent to the building were also pulled down,” he added.
The demolition drive will continue, Public Relations Officer of BIWTA Mobarrark Hossain said.
