BSMMU nurses demonstrate, observe work abstention

    DOT Desk: Around hundred nurses of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Thursday morning observed work abstention and demonstrated in the campus protesting at the assault of one of their fellow’s husband by the staff, Reports The New Age.
    Protesters said that on Wednesday night hospital staff Harun along with others assaulted one of their colleagues’ husband while he went to meet with her.
    They said that the staff also verbally and physically assaulted the female nurse following a heated altercation.
    Additional director of BSMMU Dr Nazmul Karim dubbed the incident as ‘misunderstanding’ and said that nurses resumed duty after authorities’ interference.
    ‘We assure them of justice,’ he said.
