Bangladesh Bank must safeguard its risk factors

Dr Salehuddin Ahmed speaks to DOT
No visible step has so far been taken up with regard to Bangldesh Bank reserve heist. The government should have taken immediate visible steps after probing into the incident. So far as I have seen, the matter was not dealt with all seriousness and professionalism.
The central bank of Bangladesh should have heightened up security measures immediately after the incident occurred.
We have seen a foreign national investigated into the incident and it delayed the process.
The central bank should have replaced the people responsible for the crime. It may not be a substantial amount of money for us.
However, we should bring back the money. We must know the motive and the culprits behind the heist.
The incident is a regrettable matter for our country and we should take precautionary steps.
It might have happened due to technical glitch or any external conspiracy. From now on, we should safeguard our risk factors. Dr Salehuddin Ahmed is the former Governor, Bangladesh Bank.
