Tk5.25 lakh’s phensedyl, 42kg cannabis seized at Jessore border

    UNB: Border Guard Bangladesh seized the hauls yesterday.
    Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized 42kg of cannabis and 264 bottles of phensedyl—worth Tk5.25 lakh—in separate drives, at different border points in Jessore.
    The drives, conducted by BGB, started around 10pm on Monday and lasted till early Tuesday.
    Commanding Officer of BGB 49 Battalion in Jessore, Lt Colonel Mohammad Ariful Haque said, based on a tip-off, a team of BGB conducted a drive in Number 1, Ghiba area, on Monday; and chased a gang of drug traders. As they fled the scene, the drug traders left a bag behind. The BGB team found the cannabis after searching the bag.
    Additionally, another team seized the bottles of phensedyl at the Benapole border around 4:30am.
