Unfortunately, politics has now become opposition-less

Syed Borhan Kabir speaks to DOT :
The newly formed government has three challenges ahead; establishing a corruption-less society, establishing good governance and ensuring accountability. An opposition party is important for criticizing the government. Unfortunately, there is no opposition party in the parliament after the general elections. The main aspect of this election is that politics has now become opposition-less. This is a big challenge for the newly formed government. As far as Political Science is concerned, the government may turn dictatorial in absence of an opposition party. The government should balance it in its own way and create a platform for criticism. The government should explore its shortcoming, loopholes and weaknesses. A devastating situation may arise if the government suffers from complacency.
