2 ‘yaba traders’ killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘shootout’

    Banglanews24: Two listed yaba traders were killed in a reported shootout with policemen in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
    The deceased are—Abdur Rashid Prakash Dailya, 47 and Abul Kalam, 35. Teknaf Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Borhan Uddin, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Farhad and Constable Hridoy sustained bullet injuries in the incident, said police.
    Teknaf Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradip Kumar Das told Banglanews that he led a police team to recover illegal arms at Khurermukh area in Sabrang Union, around 1:15am.
    Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the yaba traders opened fire at them.
    Police fired back, in retaliation.
    Police recovered two bodies, 5 local arms and 22,000 yaba pills as the shootout ended.
