Bangladesh’s achievement in closing gender gap came through Sheikh Hasina

Dr. Shammi Ahmed speaks to DOT :
According to a report by World Economic Forum, Bangladesh ranked top among the countries of South Asia in closing the gender gap. The report says-
“Bangladesh consolidates its position as the region’s top performer and breaks into the global Index top 5 on the Political Empowerment subindex this year, recording progress on closing its political gender gap…”
The report praises Bangladesh in terms of political empowerment for ‘recording progress on closing its political gender gap’.
The right to equal treatment for both male and female came to the people of our motherland after our liberation. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first leader of this beloved land to give a 8More on Page 7, Col

And after the brutal killing of this leader, our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came back to Bangladesh with a vision to lessen gender gap in all sectors. She worked with sincerity to diminish gender inequality from Bangladesh and under her ruling; we have seen so many developments, for example: she introduced free education for girls and ensured more female representatives in different professions including politics. She has worked for social security of women as well. Previously our society used to treat female population like more female and less human. This has changed under our PM’s supervision and we have started gaining international recognition for the same. Our PM deserves all the credits for getting the recognition by World Economic Forum for Bangladesh as the region’s top performer in closing the gender gap. This is a great achievement which made the whole nation proud.
