The Jatiya Party has been allocated 29 seats as part of the Grand Alliance, but is also planning to run candidates for 132 seats separate from the coalition, reports BDnews. “The Jatiya Party has received 29 seats from the Awami League,” Jatiya Party Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga told the media yesterday. “In addition we will field candidates for 132 seats outside the coalition. So the Jatiya Party will compete in 161 seats.” Among the Grand Alliance seats, Rangpur-3 and Dhaka-17 is that of Chairman HM Ershad, the Mymensingh-4 seat for the party’s Senior Co-Chairman Raushon Ershad, the Lalmonirhat-3 seat of Co-Chairman GM Quader and the Rangpur-1 seat of General Secretary Mashiur Rahman Ranga.
