Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized six kilograms of gunpowder from bordering Wahedpur area of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj yesterday morning. But no arrests was made in this connection.
Lt Col Sajjad Sarwar, commanding officer of BGB-53 battalion of the paramilitary force, said a patrol team of the paramilitary force conducted a drive in Kalupur field around 11:30 am. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, a teenage boy ran away towards the Indian territory leaving behind a bag, the BGB official said.
Afterwards, they found 6 kg gunpowder inside the bag, he concluded.
