Bangladesh Bank has published the list of holidays for scheduled banks in 2019 with a total of 24 days off.
The Off-site Supervision Department of the central bank issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (Nov 29) and sent copies to Chief Executive officers (CEOs) of the scheduled banks. According to notification, bankers will get maximum of three days off in two Eids in 2019 same as usual. The rest of the holidays will be for one day only. The announced holidays are- Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day, birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Independence and National Day, Bengali New Year (Pohela Boishakh), Shab-e-barat, May Day, Buddha Purnima and Buddha Day, Jamatul Bida, Shab-e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr (3 days), bank holiday (Two days- July 1 and December 31), Eid-ul-Azha, National Mourning Day, Janmashtami, Ashura, Durga Puja, Eid-e-Miladunnabi, Victory Day and Christmas Day.
