Public awareness necessary about religious outfits

Air Commodore (rtd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury speaks to DOT :
I am opposed to any sort of religious politics. We should come out of various religious politics. We are witnessing how societies are heading to conflict , not only in Bangladesh but also in Pakistan and India, due to Hindutva. Now it is time to practice democracy more and more. The more we will practice democracy, the more the religious groups will weaken.
The US Congress urged international development agencies to sever ties with any individual or organization affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami and Hefajat-e-Islam.It is easier said than done. Now banking system or money transaction has become easier. None can control the system.
We should have a close monitoring over their funding. People should be made aware that such organisations are against the national interest. Then it will be an effective step. The police administration should be proactive so that no organization could use arms, be it religious or political.
