Abrar Hussain of DOT : The first death anniversary of Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq will be observed today. Meanwhile, the Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) held a memorial discussion at its auditorium at 3 pm yesterday, reported BSS.
Annisul, who had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, breathed his last on November 30 at the age of 65. He was later laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard on December 2 in 2017.
Annisul Huq took oath as Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor on May 6, 2015.
Annisul was born on 27 October 1952 at Sonapur village under Sonagazi upazila in Noakhali district. He also established his own business, Mohammadi Group in 1986.
He was the former president of several apex bodies including the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Independent Power Producers Association.
