After taking all legal measures, finally, on November 29, 40 Bangladeshi people have been deported from Germany to Bangladesh. The German government has made all arrangements to send them back. According to sources, they are returning as per the agreement signed between Dhaka and the European Union for the repatriation of illegal Bangladeshis. These people are not coming back voluntarily, the diplomatic sources reported. It also said that the German government has forced them to return Bangladesh. Diplomatic sources also said that the illegal Bangladeshis, who have not been willing to return voluntarily, will not get any benefit under the agreement signed with the EU. The Bangladeshis who have lost in this legal battle of immigration could have claimed a huge amount of money if they had voluntarily come back under the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) of repatriation. Many people have received this benefit before through International Organization for Migration (IOM). Responsible officials of the Foreign Ministry, however, are positively taking this issue into consideration. In November last year after the signing of the agreement between Bangladesh and EU in New York, in the first and second phase, 36 and 31 people respectively were deported to Bangladesh. After this third phase of repatriation on 29 November, more 100 people are on the way.
