Kabir Humayun: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) yesterday said the upcoming parliamentary elections can be held in a fair manner under the partisan government only if all political parties, Election Commission and other stakeholders play a positive role.
The corruption watchdog came up with the comments based on findings of a study on good governance and integrity in political parties in election manifesto, reports The Daily Sun.
However, at a press conference at its office, TIB said that there is a lack of faith in the partisan government’s ability to conduct a fair election.
The Election Commission earlier said the schedule for the next parliamentary polls will be announced any day after October 30.
