Interim payment of compensation to US-Bangla Pain Crash Victims

    Desk Report: It was March 12, 2018 when an US-Bangla Airlines, Bombardier Dash 8 (DHC-8-Q400) aircraft (Flight No. BS-211) with seventy-one passengers on board met a catastrophic accident at the premises of Tribhuvan International Airport. That tragic accident took the life of 47 passengers along with 4 crew members. Other 20 passengers were injured where, some of them had terrible wounds.
    One of the couples who were the victims of this tragic accident was Dr. Md. Rezwanul Haque and Tahira Tanvin Shashi Reza. Rezwanul Haque came out from that accident with a major burning on his body but unfortunately, he lost his beloved wife in this horrific accident. Mr. Rezwanul Haque had to went through several medical assistance for his grave wound in Nepal, Singapore and Bangladesh. He is still in medication and under medical checkups.
    Another innocent victim who lost his precious life for this horrific accident was Mr. Motiur Rahman. He was an employee of Runner Group. He was travelling to Nepal on that flight with his two colleagues.
    FM Associates, a law firm in Bangladesh represented by company and insurance law expert Barrister Al Amin Rahman, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh along with has been bestowed with the responsibility to conduct all necessary arrangements including filing the succession suits for the deceased passengers and all the financial loss and damage of the wounded passengers in Bangladesh. Furthermore, they have been assigned to settle the passenger claims of that flight with the affected families by disbursing payments to them from the insurers of the airline company.
    In the continuation of the compensation disbursement process, Barrister Al Amin Rahman, Partner, FM Associates, by considering the current physical situation of Mr. Rezwanul Haque, disbursed an interim payment of 500,000 (five lacs) through cheque to him on the 19th August 2018. This interim payment has been made to Mr. Rezwanul Haque because he had to undergo some serious medical assistance as his condition was critical after the accident.
    Moreover, the successors of Mr. Motiur Rahman also received a cheque of 42,40,942 (forty-two lacs forty thousand nine hundred and forty-two) on the 28th August 2018. The cheque was handed over to the mother, sister and four brothers of Late Mr. Motiur Rahman by Barrister Al Amin Rahman of FM Associates, and Brig. Gen. Shafique Shamim, PSC (Rtd.), Managing Director & CEO of Sena Kalyan Insurance Co. Ltd.
