2 killed as train hits bus in Chittagong

Kabir Humayun: Two passengers of a bus were killed and 20 more injured as a train rammed a bus at Bariyarhat Rail Crossing in Chittagong’s Mirsharai upazila early yesterday.
Inspector of Mirsharai fire station Rabiul Azam said one of the deceased was identified as Sunirmal Chakma, 55, hailing from Khagrachhari district, reports UNB.
A Chittagong-bound train Bijoy Express hit a Khagrachhari-bound bus of S Alam Paribahan while it was crossing the railway tracks and dragged it almost 500 yards around 4am, he said.
Of the injured, 15 people were admitted to Chittagong Medical Hospital and the rest were taken to local hospitals in the area.
The accident halted rail communication on Dhaka-Chittagong route for two and half hours.
