MP protests attack with sit-in in Nilphamari

    Desk Report: A ruling party lawmaker of Nilphamari sat-in as a show of protest over alleged attack by fellow party-men during yesterday’s observation of national mourning day. Reports the daily star
    Thousands joined Nilphamari-3 MP Golam Mostofa and blocked the Nilphamari-Jaldhaka road, demanding arrest of the attackers, our local correspondent reports.
    Golam Mostofa was attending a programmeof SammilitaSangskritikJoteat zero point when the incident took place around 8:45pm, said Abdul Gaffar, an organizer.
    Ex-upazila unit chief of Jubo League Abdul Wahed Bahadur and his followers started hue and cry and hurled abusive words to the lawmaker, Gaffar added. The MP was attacked at the spot, but the attackers fled before anyone could get to them.
