Quota reformists to go tough after Aug 31

Kabir Humayun: The quota reformists yesterday threatened the government with a tougher agitation programme if their three-point demand is not met by August 31.
“We will announce a tougher programme if the government does not respond to our demands by August 31,” said Bin Yeamin Mollah, joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, reports The Daily Star.
The rally was arranged in front of Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka’s Shahbagh where around a hundred members of the platform joined.
Some guardians of the detained quota reformists and road safety demonstrators also took part in the rally.
The rally was supposed to be held on the base of Raju Sculpture on Dhaka University campus around 11am but the organisers had to move to Shahbagh as a group of DU unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) arranged a rally there at the same time.
The quota leaders also demanded the publication of gazette notification on bringing reformation in the quota system immediately.
They also sought the unconditional release of the detained students who staged demonstration demanding safe roads.
