Student held over ‘telephonic conversation’ with Amir Khasru

    Kabir Humayun: Detec-tives detained a student from Cumilla early yesterday in connection with a ‘leaked phone conversation’ with BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
    The arrestee was identified as Milhanur Rahman Naumi, son of Siddiqur Rahman, hailed from Deura village in Barura upazila, UNB reports.
    The detainee has completed his Bar-at-Law from a university in London and a friend of BNP leader Amir Khasru’s daughter.
    Naumi’s father Siddiqur said that Naumi was arrested from his aunt’s house when he went there to give an invitation card of his cousin’s marriage ceremony scheduled to be held on August 5.
    Naumi made a phone call to the BNP leader to invite him to the marriage ceremony, he said.
    Police also detained Naumi’s maternal uncle Manzurul Alam and paternal uncle Faridur Rahman. However, they were released later.
    A reported audio clip of telephonic conversation between BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and an unknown boy over intensifying the ongoing student movement went viral on Facebook and YouTube on Saturday.
