Dr AB Mirza Azizul Islam, former finance adviser to Caretaker Government : It is definitely not a pleasant matter both for the country and for its economy, which happened to the coal at Brapukuria coal yard. An impartial probe is necessary for the disappearance of the huge quantity of coal.
Actions must be taken so that none dares to commit such criminal act in future. Probe committees are formed in connection with many issues but proper investigations are not conducted. So, punitive actions should be taken against those found guilty following investigations.
Corruptions are damaging in many aspects. Likewise, the power production is being hampered due to the coal disappearance. The coal supply has also hit a snag due to the coal smuggling. The fraud is also putting pressure on the national economy. Those who are behind such act of theft probably committed similar misdeeds before. This time they have been able to commit such large-scale crime at the earliest opportunity. It is not possible to reverse what happened. A neutral investigation has to be launched immediately.
