Zia Charitable Trust Case: Khaleda’s bail extended until June 28

Sabah Mannan: A Dhaka court yesterday extended bail for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case till June 28.
The order was passed by Dhaka-5 Special Judge Court’s Judge Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman who also withdrew a production warrant issued against Khaleda, reports The Independent.
Khaleda’s lawyer Sanaullah Miah said she could not appear at the court due to illness.
On April 22, the same court extended Khaleda’s bail until May 10 in the graft case and then again until June 4. Early in February, the former prime minister was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on August 8, 2011.
